Christmas Kitty

Ashley got a kitty from Aunt Laura for Christmas. Well, not a real kitty but a perfect pet kitty which is much better b/c it does not require food, liter box or vet bills. This will probably be the only cat that Ashley ever owns, at least in her childhood. 2 dogs seem like more then enough pets and Shawn doesn't like cats to much. (This is an understatement!) But, Ashley loves her perfect pet. Here she is giving it a big hug!

Monkey Business

We had such a fun weekend at the Janovich house. Saturday morning we went to a birthday party for a friend of Shawn's little boy. He turned 2 and Ashley had a pretty good time she got to play with some of the big boy toys. Ashley is getting into a little bit of a shy stage. She likes to cling onto my leg until she warms up to everyone. Which is funny b/c at daycare she rips in there like a mad woman!
Then after a nap and a snack we headed over to a new indoor play area that just opened near our house. We weren't sure what to expect especially since it was "open play" time and kids of all ages could play together. We were worried Ashley might be a little small. But Ashley had a great time at Monkey Business (what a cute name for it) and loved all of the big things to climb on. It was worth the $8!

Accidents

Now that Ashley is mobile and getting into everything she constantly has a bump or scratch somewhere on her. This past weekend she got a big scratch on her nose. She cried for 2 seconds and then was off to do some more damage. All this and she isn't even 14 months yet...

BFF

There is no question about it, Izzy is Ashley's best friend in the entire world. She just loves her so much. Poor Izzy is a little nervous now that Ashley is bigger than her. Sometimes, when Ashley is laying on her, she looks up at me like "oh please don't let her crush me"!

But even though Izzy is a little devil spawn, we love her, mostly b/c she loves Ashley so much.

Sick Baby

Ashley has been a little under the weather. Friday when I picked her up from daycare she had a high fever and runny nose. So, what better to do then come home, take some medicine, a cool bath and slip into bed with mommy to snuggle and watch some cartoons. Ashley is usually not really allowed to watch much tv, just Sesame St in the mornings while we get ready for work. But since she wasn't feeling well it seemed like the thing to do and it is the only thing that keeps this kid still for more than 2 seconds. So after a sick visit to the dr on Saturday morning the verdict is that she must have some kind of virus. But luckily her fever only lasted till Saturday and she is on the mend.

Oh and let's keep in mind that I look particularly lovely in these pictures. I had been to the gym right before I picked her up and hadn't had a chance to shower yet. Gross I know!

Nothing Like A....

butt shot! Ashley gets so excited to get into the bath every night that she would barely hold still for me to take her picture. She was trying to get Shawn to put her in the water. Bath time is my favorite time of the night these days. Ashley loves it and I get to sit next to the tub and just relax for a few moments.

Other exciting news, Ashley has been off the bottle for 2 days now! Since her first birthday she had been down to just 1 bottle before bed. Thank goodness she doesn't seem to mind at all!

This makes me think she is less like her daddy then I thought, rumor has it (thanks for the scoop Grandma) that daddy did not want to give up the bottle and kept it for way to long (and then just picked up another bottle when he got to Morgantown!)

We're Back!

I found the cord to my camera yesterday! Thank goodness. I was starting to think I was going to have to buy a new one and wasn't very happy about that.

So, the last couple weeks have been very busy. Ashley is now just walking everywhere like an old pro and her favorite word is "no". That is her answer to everything. And Ashley has moved up to the toddler room at daycare. She may be the littlest one in there, but she has a great time!

Bad, Bad Blogger

Well, I have been a bad blogger. Some is because of being busy but also b/c in the post Christmas clutter of my house I seem to have misplaced my digital camera cord and can not download any new pictures. So, when I find it (which should be this weekend) I will post new picture.

Here is another cute one from when we were home, Ashley is helping Grandma Kathy open her presents, then she proceeded to give them each a kiss!

A Little More Christmas

I took so many cute pictures over Christmas that I thought I would share a few more. We started our Christmas celebrations on Dec 23rd at Shawn's dad's (pop pop & grams's) house, then Great-Grandma & Great Grandpa Alice & Al's house on Christmas Eve and ended our tour at Grammy's house on Christmas day.
