A Trip To The Zoo

The weather this weekend was just so nice! Sunday we meet the Nick's for brunch at the Waterfront in Georgetown (which it is always so nice down there) and then we all piled in and headed for the Zoo. I was so excited to take Ashley to the zoo for the first time. She just loves the dogs so much (not just our dogs, the neighbors dogs to) that I thought she would just love looking at all the animals. Well, after it taking us FOREVER to find somewhere to park and then walking blocks to the zoo, I was becoming a little less enthusiastic. But, once we got there, we all had a good time. The zoo was packed, but it was really fun and didn't smell as bad as i thought it would.

On a side note, I wish I would have gotten a picture of Shawn and Joey trying to get Shawn strapped into the baby snuggli, it had to be the funniest, yet cutest thing I have seen in awhile!

And as you can see, the zoo was just exhausting for little Ashley!

Just Hang'in Out

Just a few more pictures from our trip home last weekend. Last night I didn't get around to taking any pictures. I had to work late last night and was way to tired to do anything else. Fridays don't seem to come around soon enough. The main thing on the agenda for this weekend is sleep! (and clean, and grocery shop, and do laundry, etc...) The weekends need to last just a little bit longer. But anyways, here are some more cute pictures of Ashley hanging out at Grandmas.

Aren't I Cute?

It is apparent to me that Ashley is making sure to stay on Auntie Denisha's good side. I think she already knows that Denisha will spoil her, actually Denisha has already started spoiling her, she started spoiling her before she even got here!

On The Road Again......

Ashley made her first trip to PA this weekend to visit family and friends. For most of the people there is was the first time that they have met Ashley so we thought that she needed a bath. She seemed to think that it was a lot of fun hanging out in the kitchen sink. I do have to comment on the fact that my daughter who is not even 5 months old yet seems to be a little ham already. She was so good on Saturday, she let everyone hold her and made all of her cute faces for them. She even showed everyone her favorite trick... shoving her entire fist in her mouth!

The most important part of the weekend was that Ashley got to meet her great grandparents. She seemed right at home!

Finally.... Warm Weather

There is nothing I hate more than winter and this year it seems like winter would never end. But finally this weekend the weather seemed to be moving in the direction of spring. Today it is supposed to be 85degrees, so I thought that Ashley should break out some of her summer clothes. I love this little dress, I found it on a clearance rack for $3 and I just had to get it for her. This is the first time she is wearing a dress to daycare, we will see how it goes!

Way To Early

So in the mornings, I get up at 5:15am so that I can feed Ashley, get ready and try to get out the door by 6:30 so that I can beat the traffic going into the city and be at work by 7:00. The bad thing with DC is that even though I only live 5 miles from work, if I wait and leave the house at 7:00 or 7:30 it would take me close to 1 hour on most days to get to work. That is just insane. The old days of metro riding are over for now, since I have to pick Ashley up at daycare after work.

The other morning I was tired and trying to poor my coffee into my travel mug, get bottles ready and not step on one of the dogs and just feeling in a bad mood all around, until I looked over and saw Ashley smiling that big smile of hers watching me get everything ready, that smile of hers instantly put me in a good mood!

I am a little nervous though, she is always so happy in the mornings I think we are raising a .... dreaded.... MORNING PERSON! Now Shawn and I are clearly not morning people so this should be interesting!!

Starbucks

On Saturday, since it was absolutely freezing and yucky out Shawn and I decided to go to Starbucks to sit, relax and have a coffee while we were out doing some other errands. As soon as we walked in and sat down Ashley was out for the count, I had to grab a picture because she just looks so cute, she loves her new little monkey that she got for Easter.

For Kim

Well, Kim will be upset to know that I have no baby pictures of myself at my house. They are all in good old Fairmont.
I have so many cute pictures of Ashley from the weekend but we were having internet problems at home (gotta love Verizon) over the weekend that I didnt post any, hopefully I can post some tonight.

But here is what happened on my birthday:

3 Events That Occured:
1940 - The Chicago Bears defeat the Washington Redskins 73-0, in the NFL Championship Game. This is the most lopsided game in NFL history. (I had to put this b/c of all the crazy Redskin fans around here!)
1976 - The Eagles release the album Hotel California.
1980 - John Lennon is murdered by Mark David Chapman in New York City.

2 Important Birthdays:
1765 - Eli Whitney, American inventor (d. 1825)
1976 - Dominic Monaghan, German-born British actor

1 Death:
1980 - John Lennon, English musician and activist (b. 1940)

Holidays:
The solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary
Panama - Mother's Day

Little Squirt

Well, we just got back from the dr and the official weigh in was at 11lbs 9ozs. I think it is official that Ashley is going to be a little squirt! She also had to get her 2nd round of immunizations, but, she seems to be in pretty good spirits, so hopefully she wont have any kind of bad reaction.

Professional Ham

Well, I have decided that Ashley is going to be such a ham when she gets a little older. We went to get her picture taken for Easter and she was laughing and having a great time for the camera, but the minute that the woman stopped taking her picture she got upset and started crying. The same thing happened with the Easter bunny. I guess she thinks she is a little model.

A Little More Easter

I had to put a few more pictures from Easter. We decided that since Grammy and Aunt Nina had to drive back home that day that we were just going to go to Bob Evans for Easter dinner. So, no formal attire was necessary. Here are a few pictures of Ashley in her Easter onesie just waiting for us to be on our way.

The weather has been so cold and dreary, I was really ready for all that nice weather, oh well, hopefully next week. I would like to get some outdoor shots of Ashley.

Happy Easter

Ashley had a wonderful first Easter. She got to celebrate with her Aunt Laura who was here till yesterday and then she got to celebrate again with her Grammy and Aunt Nina who just left today. We went to the mall to see the Easter Bunny on Friday night. Ashley absolutely loved it, I thought she might start screaming, but she thought he was just the best thing and laughed the entire time. I do have to say that the Easter Bunny is a rip off these days. In order to sit on his lap at the mall you have to buy pictures and the cheapest package was $20! Remember back in the old days when they snapped a Polaroid, gave you a chocolate egg and sent you on your way? No more, I am a little nervous, what do you think Santa will charge if EB can get away with charging $20?

Ashley also had a great Easter morning, old EB stopped (or shall I say hopped) by the house this morning and left her a stuffed monkey and the cutest little doggy that sings and talks when you push on him. It was a great Easter!

So Sleepy

I have to admit that one of my favorite things to do on the weekend is to curl up with Ashley when she takes one of her afternoon naps. I love her laying her little head on me and falling asleep. I just find it to be the most relaxing thing in the world.

Do You Think This Is To Big For Me?

I feel like Ashley just wasn't sure if Shawn's hat was to big for her or if it was just right. Anytime Shawn has one of his hats laying around Ashley reaches for it. I guess she is alreay a WV fan, you can't really tell but she is wearing Shawn's favorite WVU hat!

Thank Goodness for Spring

The weather on Saturday was just so beautiful that Shawn, Ashley and I decided to head out doors. So, off we went, first to Shawn's favorite deli to have some lunch and then we headed to Pentagon Row. Pentagon Row is a great place to sit outside, have a coffee, eat lunch or just hang out. So, I decided to have a nice tall iced coffee from Starbucks and Ashley decided to have a bottle (like she had a choice!) And of course you can see she decided to have her fist for desert!

I am just so glad that the weather is warming up and we can start doing more things outdoors.
