I'm Ready

So, tonight we leave for our big Myrtle Beach trip. Shawn nor I have been to Myrtle Beach in years. So, we will see, everyone says it is alot of fun, but honestly I can't even remember. We decided over the weekend that since we were taking the long drive from here to Myrtle and then 2 weeks later from here to Indianapolis for Beth's wedding that we would go ahead and get rid of the stupid graco infant carseat, I hate that thing! And it doesn't seem like it would be all that safe. So we made the purchase, a brand new, Britax, man is that thing a lot nicer. It looks more comfy for her and actually looks sturdy (although it should rock her to sleep for what we paid for it!)

But of course, like all kids, while Shawn was getting it ready Ashley just wanted to play in the box, she kept trying to pull herself up using the sides not realizing how light the box was when there was nothing in it. And she tried to nibble on the side like she does everything else.

Well, we are off tonight so there probably won't be to much more blogging until next week, everyone have a happy 4th!

Water Baby

Ashley had a very good time on Monday night at her first waterbabies class. The only complaint I had was that the water was so cold! How on earth an indoor pool could be that cold and it was 95degrees outside, but I digress!

Lazy

I have been pretty lazy about blogging recently. I think it is b/c Shawn and I have been busy trying to get everything ready for our trip to the beach. Last night Ashley had her first waterbabies class and I have some pictures from that but had no time to get them downloaded last night.

So here are a few pictures of Ashley we took last week. She loves the water. The 2nd one just cracks me up, you wonder what they are thinking! Tomorrow will be some waterbabies pictures!

So Tired

This is an old picture, but last night, Ashley woke up at 3am and decided to stay up (and not in the best of moods) till 5am. And of course I have to get up at 5:30am. So needless to say I wish I were still in bed. I have no idea what was wrong with her, I think it is a teething issue. She never gets up in the middle of the night. Usually, she is out like a light by 8:30pm and we don't hear from her till I go in and wake her up in the morning for a bottle.

So, to all the working moms out there that have kids that get up in the middle of the night often, I say, you are saints and better you than me!!

This picture was taken Christmas Day, after all the company left, Ashley and I were both tuckered out and accidentally fell asleep watching some tv. When I see these pictures, I sometimes think, is that the same baby? She has changed so much!

So Sleepy

I had to post just 1 last Father's Day picture. Ashley and her daddy were pretty tired by the end of the day. Notice that Izzy the insane was still ready to play more, but that is another story, I don't know what is wrong with that dog!!!

On another topic, we got out first "Accident/Incident" Report from daycare yesterday. Apparently Ashley decided that she was going to scratch one of the little boys in her class. He is new so I thought maybe it is like jail, you make it known from the beginning that you are tough and then they don't bother you!!

Happy Father's Day .. A little late

Yesterday was the perfect weather for Father's Day, it was almost 100degrees, but we like hot weather. Ashley decided with all that heat that we would take daddy out to lunch instead of cooking at home, it was to hot to run the oven all day and to hot to grill out. So, we took daddy to Maggianos, his favorite restaurant. We had 1 little problem, Ashley was to small for the high chair there and they do not allow strollers in the restaurant, so she had to sit on our laps all through lunch. But she was pretty good till the end then i think she was just getting bored.

By evening time, the weather had started to cool to a more reasonable temperature so Ashley got to break in her brand new baby pool. She slipped on a swim diaper, said forget about a bathing suite and jumped on in. She is a water baby for sure!!!

Pottery Barn Kids

I absolutely love this frog towel! My cousin Wes and his wife Lisa got Ashley the turtle towel from Pottery Barn Kids. The thing I can not understand is how 1 store could have so many cute things, but on the other hand how they can get people to pay such a crazy amount of money for 1 item. This is probably a $20 towel! But we love it and Ashley looks so cute in it.





Also notice that Savannah is laying around in the background just praying that it is almost time for Ashley to go to bed. Ashley likes to schooch around on her belly (we are almost into a crawl) and makes a direct route for Savannah. Poor Savannah gets some ear pulling, tail pulling, etc... (Not as much as Izzy does but still alot) and then after Ashley goes to bed Savannah has to still deal with Izzy wanting her to play. What is a girl in her golden years to do?!? So for all of you who live near by if you see Savannah on Columbia Pike with a backpack you know she finally had enough and ran away from home!

Not Much New

Well there isn't much to write about from the Janovich house. Nothing to exciting has been going on. Ashley, Savannah, Izzy and I survived our night alone in the house and Shawn made it back from NY on Monday night. I just thought I would share this cute picture of Ashley, I took it the weekend the air conditioner was broken and she had to sleep in the pack and play and Shawn and I had to sleep on the pull out sofa in the basement.

We May Have a Problem...

Ok, so before when I posted the picture of Ashley flipp'in the bird one possible answer was that she had joined a gang, but I was not to concerned. But Aunt Laura sent us a picture that she took of Ashley around Easter and guess what... there is that little middle finger again, raised in all it's glory! So, I don't know, maybe I need to watch and see if she is coming home from daycare with blankies or stuffed animals that aren't hers, maybe they shake down the kids from rival daycares and take their binkies..... Who Knows. But I think we are going to have the talk.. "ok Ashley honey, no flippin your gang sign in public"... "but mommy, I gotta work on my street cred"

One last thing, Ashley wanted to make sure that we said hi to daddy on here. He is out of town in the big NYC and we know he will check the blog today, well, all your girls miss you daddy!!!

The Big Weigh In

Last night was Ashley's 6 month check up. Well the verdict is in, she is still a little squirt, but she is moving up in the percentiles. She weighs in at 13lbs 14oz and she is 25 1/4 inches long. So, I think it is safe to say that Ashley is going to be quite a petite little thing. Anyways, we also got a little surprise while we were there, her first little tooth has just popped through. You can barely see it, but it is there. We also got the green light to start baby food. So tonight, we are going to have to pick which yummy veggie to try first!

I took this picture last weekend, when the air conditioner was broken and we had no high chair. We had to do everything in the basement b/c the rest of the house was 1,000 degrees! So trying to feed her cereal on my lap was quite interesting to say the least!

Splish Splash

Ashley just loves bath time, she has recently discovered splashing, so she thumps that little fist down into the water to see how high she can get it to shoot out of the tub. And beware rubber duckies everywhere..... Ashley is a rubber duckie hunter, she spots them, then she moves in for the kill and then she bits down on their little heads!

Tonight is her 6 month checkup, so tomorrow I will post the official weigh in !

Wait a minute

is that me on the internet? Ashley has become obsessed with trying to eat the computer. I think she wants to make sure that she has final say on what goes on this blog, I mean 20 years from now she doesn't want pictures of her in the tub circling the internet!

Check Out My New...

Highchair! Sunday Shawn and I made the trip to Babies R Us and purchased a high chair for Ashley. I was still not sure if she was going to actually fit in it, but feeding her the cereal in the bumbo was starting to get a little tough, she was always reaching for whatever was near, this way she is a little more contained.

She is a big fan of her new highchair, but isnt as sure about the oatmeal!

My First Wedding

Last weekend while I was in Charleston celebrating Beth's upcoming nuptials, Ashley and her daddy went to Morgantown for a wedding. Don't they look so cute? Well, Shawn planned the coordinating color scheme. Aunt Shelli got Ashley this adorable dress and I was so glad that she finally could fit into it!!
