Holiday Baking

Oh the stress of having to get all of the Christmas cookies done in time....




Ashley, Daddy and Grandma Kathy baked some sugar cookies on Christmas Eve morning. You can see that it went extremely well. OK, that maybe an exaggeration, but Ashley did manage not to lick the dough or pick her nose, so I say it was a success!

Christmas Pictures

Well, Christmas is over and after alot of traveling and eating and opening presents I have to say it was a success. Ashley decided that she really loved all the bows and I decided we should have went to Target and spent $1.50 and got her a bag of bows for Christmas!
I got a lot of good pictures, so here are just a few and I will post more tomorrow.

She really took a liking to Grandma Kathy's dog Miller. This poor dog is 11 years old, I am sure Miller was glad when we left!

A Glimpse of Christmas

A couple of weeks ago we took Ashley to get her Christmas pictures. Of course the place was swamped because it was the Saturday after Thanksgiving. But, I think for the most part the pictures turned out great.

And the results are in.....

Ashley is going to be a skinny mini! We went for her 1 year well visit last night and little miss thing is 28 3/4 long which puts her in the 40%. However, her weight is at 18lbs 1 oz which puts her barely in the 15%. So the verdict, she is going to be built like dad! The funny thing is that so far Ashley is the least picky I know, there is nothing that we have given her that she hasn't eaten, well, except her birthday cake. So, I say good for her, her thighs will thank her one day!!

When it is all said and done....

The party was a success. Ashley's first birthday party went off without a hitch. We had alot of friends and family that traveled in to PA to see Ashley. It was a great time and the birthday girl had a wonderful time. Ashley got so many toys that there couldn't be anything left at Toys R Us. So, for Christmas I am thinking she will get alot of clothes!
The only funny thing about Saturday is that Ashley does not like cake. We learned this when she wanted nothing to do with her smash cake and when I gave her a bite of icing on a spoon she made a horrible face and spit it out! I say good for her, I wish I didn't like sweets!!
Over the next few days I will post some additional birthday pictures. There are to many good ones to choose from.

The Munchkin Is 1!!

I can't believe it has been an entire year, the time has went by so fast that I am amazed. Ashley has been a wonderful addition to our family and we couldn't imagine loving anyone more.

1st Thanksgiving

Well, Ashley enjoyed her first Thanksgiving with some turkey and she even tried some mashed potatoes and cranberries.
But, Thanksgiving was here and gone and we had to spend the rest of the weekend getting all those last minute birthday items. The count down is on, Ashley's birthday will be here in less than a week!


I love this picture, she has a look like what on earth am I supposed to do with this. Of course she didn't eat the leg, but we thought she would look cute holding it!!





And Savannah was standing by just in case she dropped it.

Poor, Poor Izzy

Ashley is obsessed with Izzy's cage. Here she is tyring to coax Izzy in.

Then here they are sitting together. Shawn took these pictures so you can see Izzy looking back at me like "please Mom, I don't want to go in there". And then like always it ended with Ashley trying to get in Izzy's cage herself.

Again, I have to state, thank god Izzy is a patient and loving dog!

Happy Birthday Alex

This past Saturday was our neighbor Alex's first birthday. Ashley and Alex are exactly 2 weeks apart in age and the really funny part about that is that Alex's mommy Suzie and I had due dates that were exactly 2 weeks apart and then both had our babies 10 days early. Not that either of us were complaining, I say as soon as it is healthy get those babies out of there!

So, Shawn, Ashley and I went to Alex's birthday party.

Then Alex being the gentleman that he is gave his lady a ride, no woman of his will have to walk.

And Ashley was more than happy to get a ride.

Just Like Daddy

No posts lately because Ashley has been sick all week. It started Monday and finally today she is feeling better. She has a double ear infection coupled with congestion and a high fever. Thank goodness the fever broke last night and she is on the mend. But, that has meant that mommy has had to work from home all week and decided to just take the day off today. It was getting to hectic, even with daddy here helping most of the week.

But, anyways, here is a picture of Ashley that for some reason reminds me of how her daddy drinks....

Let's Go

No blogs lately because poor little Ashley has been sick. So, no time to blog. I think she is feeling better today but we will have to see what the day brings.

Ashley loves to hold onto Izzy's leash if I take her out with me when I take Izzy out. When we were getting ready to leave the house the other day she picked up Izzy's leash and looked at us like, what, she can't go to? Then of course Izzy was upset because she thought she was going outside. These 2 are already making trouble together.

A Big Night

Well, Ashley had a big night last night, she took her first steps. Here is a picture of her standing and getting ready to try to walk. She has 2 steps down, but past that she falls on her little behind. She also gets distracted and tries to reach out for Izzy or grab a toy and then ends up falling! She is just practicing so she can walk at her first birthday party!!

One Big Pumpkin

Ok, one last picture featuring the giant pumpkin that Ashley's Grandma got her. I like these b/c you can see how big it is or I guess how little Ashley is.

Happy Halloween

Ashley survived her first Halloween. And Mama's little monkey had a great time. We went out in our neighborhood with Alex to show them off to the neighbors.

Well, she may not be Picasso, but this weekend when Grandma Kathy and Aunt Laura were visiting they brought Ashley a big old pumpkin. So, being that she is a tad to young to carve it we decided to let her paint on it. With the help of some washable paints from crayola, here is what you get!

Been awhile

Well, last week I came down with a nasty bug or a case of food poisoning, so either way there was no time for blogging!

Ashley loves to look at her animal book and she kisses the animals on the pages. I couldn't get a picture of that, but I like this one, it looks like she is reading her book.

Outdoor Fun

On Saturday Ashley and I went over to my aunt and uncles house to hang out and visit with my aunt while Shawn and my uncle golfed. I thought it might be fun to take some pictures of Ashley around the trees and grass, something that we have very little of where we live.
But, the ground was wet and the sun was in her eyes, so this is all I got!

Look At Me

Ashley is trying very hard to walk on her own, which basically involves her walking along the couch holding on and then trying to let go and she tumbles on her little tush!

And her other favorite thing to do is look out the window and then kiss her reflection in the mirror. Apparently, she thinks it is another baby in there.

Bye Daddy

On Sunday, Shawn went out the back door to walk down to the neighbors house to watch some football. Ashley watched him walk out the back door and waved, bye bye...



Then she just kinda stood there for a little while, I think she thought he was playing hide and seek or something because you could tell she was waiting for him to jump from around the corner or something!

The Queen of Country Music

So, I am sure that everybody knows who Reba McEntire is and anyone who watches Lifetime TV Network knows that her show is on in reruns about 10 times a day. Well, Ashley is intrigued with the theme song for the show. No matter what she is doing, the minute the song starts to play she stops and watches. Now Izzy has started doing it to. Shawn told me that Reba is called the Queen of Country Music. Please don't let this be a sign that Ashley is going to be a huge country music fan, I HATE COUNTRY MUSIC MORE THAN ANYTHING!!!! And the other question that bothers me is, has anyone heard Reba's voice, I wouldn't exactly think that it is soothing to babies or dogs??

Mommy's Little Helper

Good luck getting anything done at our house these days. But luckily for me Ashley volunteered to help fold the laundry(and by fold I mean take all of the clean clothes out of the basket and throw them onto he floor)!

Ashley is into everything these days, it is hard to get anything done unless it is nap time, but it is also so fun to watch her explore everything!

Hey Mom

Ashley has recently decided that she has to pick up everything! And she of course is at that age where she wants to hand it to us or pretend to and then just hold on tighter and we have to pry things out of her hands. Shawn likes to say that her grip is like a pit bull's jaw!

But, while I was taking a picture of her the other day she was trying to nicely hand me the camera case. But ultimately decided that eating it might be the better choice!
