Bathtime

I have put other bath pictures up, but Ashley just has such a good time in the bathtub and she just looks so cute that I had to put another one up!
Last night Ashley was in a horrible mood, she was on a nap strike at daycare so she was just exhausted and ready to go to bed at about 7pm. But once she got in the bath she was as happy as she could be. I guess she water is soothing, or maybe hunting duckies is soothing. Either way, giving Ashley a bath is always a good way to get her to calm down if she is upset!

Everyone tells us that Ashley looks exactly like Shawn, well, someone sent me this link to test out that theory. And according to this Ashley looks like Shawn and I equally... so there :)

Don't Bother Me

Sunday while Shawn and I were having a bagel and coffee at Panera Ashley was hanging out having a bottle. In the first picture she is enjoying her bottle.


Then in this one she is mean mugging me good! I guess like alot of women she doesn't like having her picture taken while she is eating!!

Dirty Laundry

Well, I think that the official total after the weekend is probably about 1billion loads of laundry done this weekend at the Janovich home. But there is something really big and squirmy in this load.......

For some reason Ashley was determined to get in the laundry basket. I was on my way to the basement to put the laundry and Shawn was holding her in the kitchen and she all but jumped out of his arms into the dirty clothes. I can't imagine why you would want to roll in dirty clothes, but she did. So, it got a big laugh out of her!

Volvo

I just wanted to put this quick post to show off Ashley's Volvo t-shirt. Ashley's great grandpa Al loves Volvo, so Ashley is showing her support!

Of course she wouldn't hold still for me to get a better picture so I shot this one quickly before she could get away!

Shopping Cart Fun

It is quite a relief that Ashley is finally big enough to sit in the cart at the store or at Target, etc..... She has been sitting up on her own for months but b/c she was so small we were always afraid that she would just slide right out.

Her Grandma got her this nice little thing that keeps her away from some of the germs, but, she still made sure she touched all the dirty parts of the cart!

And this little cover has puppy toys on it, which is Ashley's favorite thing.

Our Weekend

This weekend my mom and aunt came to stay with Ashley and I since Shawn went to NY to see a Yankee game. Well, Ashley had quite a good time shopping with the girls. Her grammy and aunt Nina bought her some nice new things for fall and she loved getting all that extra attention.

Babysitters

A couple of weekends ago my Aunt Libby and Uncle Mike were kind enough to come over and watch Ashley so that Shawn and I could go out for our anniversary. This was the first time that we have left Ashley anywhere but with my mom or at daycare. Everyone did great and Shawn and I had a nice time getting out. I felt bad b/c that day she refused to take an afternoon nap, but they swore she was not cranky and did just fine... maybe they were just being nice!

High Chair

Last night Shawn and I decided that we were going to go out to eat and we are happy to announce that Ashley is finally big enough not to slide out of the high chair at restaurants! She has been sitting up on her own for awhile now but she was always so small that we were afraid she would just slip through the high chair. Her grandma Kathy got her one of those nice things to put in high chairs or grocery carts, but of course we forgot it at home.

Swim Class

Ok, so this waterbabies class would be a great idea and it would be alot of fun, except for 1 small thing. The water is so cold that I can barely stand it. Last night my lower lip was actually quivering, now do you think Ashley cared? Nope, she was a little shocked by the initial coldness but then she was just as happy as a little fish!

I'm Ready For My Closeup

Ashley just loves getting her picture taken at a portrait studio. I am not sure if it is all the lights they have set up or the woman taking the pictures making a big fuss over her or what, but she loves it. Last weekend we got her picture taken and she did a great job. I looked at the ones we got taken at Christmas (3 weeks), 3 1/2 months and then now, at 8 months. I am just amazed at how much she has grown (yes, I know she is tiny, but much less tiny) and changed!



This one just cracks me up b/c it looks like she is a bull that is charging the camera!

Rock Out

Ashley loves this little piano. Her Grandma got it for her and she slams down on the keys, babbles along and shacks her head like she is really rocking out. Now, I wonder if this is b/c she has inherited my love for all things Bon Jovi? I mean all Bon Jovi fans know how to rock out, right? Or b/c while I was pregnant little Miss Ashley attended 2 concerts, Billy Joel and yes, are you ready for it..... Nick Lachey! (How much does my hubby love me to buy me Nick Lachey tickets and then even sit through the concert with me!)

Either way, she has this ponderous look on her face like... what song do I feel like playing.

Look Ma, No Hands

Ashley has become a daredevil. She is afraid of nothing and at daycare, her and her little friend Finnian are considered the 2 babies that will do anything or go anywhere! There are the crazy kids in the class.

Well, she has been very interested in the steps lately. So Shawn was trying to show her the basement steps last night. Well, she took off and was 1/4 the way up the stairs by the time I could get the camera (with Daddy's supervision of course!)

So, I don't think that teaching her to climb stairs will be a problem. But, can anyone say "time to get some baby gates!"

This weekend we are Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby bound to purchase some lovely baby proofing equipment!

Butt Paste

Last week Ashley had her first battle with diaper rash. It was pretty red and I am sure irritated. I would guess that the (literally) 100 degree weather is the problem.

After her bath on Friday night she just wanted to examine what I was going to put on her little bum. You know, make sure it was ok! Doesn't the 2nd picture look like she is giving the Butt Paste her seal of approval.

5 years

Today is our anniversary, I can not believe that it has been 5 years! The time really does go by fast. I was going to put some of our wedding pictures on here today to celebrate the occasion but, of course I didn't have time to get them last night.

Since today is a Friday Shawn and I are going to celebrate tomorrow, Ashley is staying with her Great Aunt Libby & Great Uncle Mike and Shawn and I are going to our favorite restaurant, Harry's Tap Room.

Here is another picture of Ashley taken last weekend. She has become quite a little stinker these days. The only thing she wants to do is pull herself up or torture Izzy.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Yesterday was Shawn's birthday and Ashley and I put alot of time and energy into making him some cupcakes (by that I mean I went to Harris Teeter and bought them!)

Ashley really wanted to help her daddy blow out the candle but for fire safety reasons we didn't think that would be a good idea.

And she got him a card that she couldn't wait to give him or eat, whatever!
